Assist–Personal Activities
0107Personal care services delivered with dignity, respect, and cultural sensitivity
What We Offer
- Personal hygiene and grooming assistance, including bathing and dressing
- Support with daily routines and mobility
- Mealtime assistance
- Assistance with transferring and hoists
- Implementation and assistance with Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) and restrictive practices
- Respectful personal care that honours individual preferences
- Tailored support based on each participant's needs and comfort
Cultural Approach
Recognises that personal care is intimate; respects cultural preferences around modesty, privacy and personal care practices. Adapts support to honour cultural and religious practices (e.g., gender-specific care or dietary considerations). Implements Behaviour Support Plans with cultural sensitivity and understanding of how cultural background influences behaviour and communication.
Assist–Travel/Transport
0108Safe, accessible transportation to help you engage with your community

- Transport to medical appointments, therapy sessions and day programmes
- Support attending community events, social activities and cultural gatherings
- Accessible vehicles suited to individual mobility needs
- Assistance travelling to and from important locations
- Reliable, respectful transport that supports punctuality and independence
Cultural Approach
Supports connections to places of worship, cultural centres and community events that are meaningful to participants and their families. Ensures that transport aligns with cultural norms (e.g., accommodating prayer schedules or cultural attire).
Assist Life Stage, Transition and Supports (Module 2A)

- Guidance through major life transitions (e.g., moving from school to work or from family home to independent living)
- Support adjusting to new living arrangements or vocational training
- Planning and preparation for significant life changes
- Emotional and practical support for participants and families

Recognises that life transitions can be challenging when navigating cultural expectations and family dynamics. Provides culturally sensitive support that respects family traditions and values during times of change.
Innovative Community Participation

Cultural Approach
Celebrates cultural diversity through activities that honour participants' backgrounds. Helps participants connect with both their cultural communities and the broader community by organising cultural excursions, workshops and festivals.
Development of Life Skills
0117Building skills for greater independence and confidence in daily life
What We Offer
- Life skills training and mentoring (e.g., cooking, budgeting, personal care)
- Social communication skills development
- Budgeting, money management and everyday financial literacy
- Goal-oriented coaching focused on participants' aspirations
- Support navigating community resources and services
Cultural Approach
Provides mentoring that respects each participant's cultural context. Helps participants understand Australian systems while honouring their cultural identity. Encourages family and community involvement in skill development.
Household Tasks
0120Practical assistance with household management and daily tasks
What We Offer
- Cleaning and household maintenance (e.g., vacuuming, dusting, tidying)
- Laundry and linen care
- Meal preparation and cooking assistance
- Shopping support and groceries delivery
- Implementation and assistance with Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) during daily activities
- Support maintaining a comfortable home environment
Cultural Approach
Respects cultural preferences regarding household management, cooking practices and dietary requirements. Incorporates traditional recipes and cultural routines into meal preparation when requested. Implements behaviour support strategies within culturally appropriate contexts.
Participate Community
0125Support to actively participate in community, social and recreational activities
What We Offer
- One-on-one community access support, including attending social, recreational and educational activities
- Assistance participating in festivals, celebrations and public events
- Support building social networks and friendships
- Encouragement to engage in hobbies and interests outside the home
Cultural Approach
Helps participants maintain cultural connections by attending places of worship, cultural festivals and community gatherings. Supports building new relationships within both cultural and broader community settings.
Group Activities
